JPYC Raises $38M to Expand Japan's Regulated Stablecoin Network
JPYC, a Japanese stablecoin issuer, has raised $38 million in an extended Series B round to expand its regulated digital payment network across Japan.
The funding was led by logistics giant AZ-COM Maruwa and supported by existing investors, including Metaplanet Ventures. JPYC plans to use the funds to pursue new product initiatives, enhance its compliance expertise, and scale its payment infrastructure in both consumer and B2B markets.
JPYC's yen-backed stablecoin is fully collateralized by Japanese government bonds and bank deposits, allowing holders to redeem their digital assets for Japanese yen. The company believes that regulated stablecoins offer a practical alternative for commercial transactions, reducing settlement delays and improving cash flow management.
