Jupiter Ultra Fends Off Sandwich Attacks with Better Security Record
A recent academic study has shed light on the security of various Solana trading platforms, and Jupiter's Ultra service has emerged as one of the safer options. The study found that sandwich attacks occurred far less frequently for Jupiter Ultra users compared to those using other platforms.
The researchers analyzed three years' worth of data from six blockchains and identified 28 million cases of transactions on Solana where users expected protection against such attacks. Sandwich attacks occur when a bot buys an asset before the original transaction, causing the price to rise, then sells immediately, leaving the trader with a worse price.
Jupiter Ultra scored 0.7 in the study, indicating that sandwich attacks happened less often than anticipated by researchers. In contrast, Axiom scored 18.9, Photon 11.1, and BullX and GMGM both exceeded 10. Jupiter's system attempts to front-run trades, auto-manage volatility, and select the best trading route.
Despite the positive security finding, JUP's price has dropped 9.49% from its recent high of $0.37, settling at around $0.337. The decline followed a rapid advance of roughly 69%, making some profit-taking unsurprising. Support areas include $0.32 and $0.29.
