Justin Sun Sues Trump-Backed Crypto Venture Over Frozen Holdings

Share

Crypto billionaire Justin Sun has filed a lawsuit against World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a cryptocurrency venture backed by President Donald Trump and his family, alleging that they froze his holdings in WLFI's digital tokens.

Sun, the largest investor in WLFI, claims that the company privately installed tools to prevent his tokens from being sold after they became tradeable in September 2025. He also alleges that WLFI threatened to 'burn' or permanently delete his holdings, even while they were still in his digital wallet.

Sun purchased $45 million worth of World Liberty tokens and was named an adviser to the Trump family's cryptocurrency venture last year. In the lawsuit, he describes himself as one of WLFI's anchor investors.
