Justin Sun's China Reputation in Free Fall After Bizarre Social Media Meltdown
Justin Sun, co-founder of Tron and CEO of BitTorrent, has been engaging in a public feud on Chinese social media platform X that is severely damaging his reputation.
The controversy began when Sun shared a story about Chinese actress Jing Tian, claiming she had agreed to donate her eggs to him through a surrogate but then asked for more money. He alleged that he refused and filed a lawsuit to recover the gifts he had given her.
The sharing of personal details about his relationship with Jing was met with an immediate negative reaction from Mainlanders who considered it harmful to Jing's career. Sun failed to remove the story or apologize, which might have ended the controversy.
Instead, he continued to discuss the matter publicly, even defending himself in an interview with a Chinese media outlet and implying that courts should handle the issue. This further damaged his reputation and led to a public spat with fellow crypto billionaire Hu Xijin, known as the 'Troll King of China.'
