Solana's leading lending protocol Kamino has appointed Michael Weisz, co-founder of Yieldstreet, as its new CEO. This move is a significant step in the company's plans to expand into the U.S. market and institutional business.

Kamino currently manages approximately $1.4 billion in assets and aims to further connect Wall Street asset managers with distribution platforms and institutional capital through its collateralized lending market for tokenized real-world assets (RWA).

The company's PRIME lending market, developed in collaboration with Figure Technologies and Hastra, has integrated Figure's blockchain-based home equity loans into the collateral system. The market has seen impressive growth, with deposits surpassing $600 million within 107 days of launch.
