KB Kookmin Bank Taps JPMorgan's Kinexys for Blockchain Payments
KB Kookmin Bank, South Korea's largest lender with $552.76 billion in assets, is set to launch a blockchain payment service on JPMorgan's Kinexys network in August 2026.
The service will process cross-border US dollar transfers for import and export companies across 10 countries, including the United States, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia.
Kinexys, previously known as Onyx, is J.P. Morgan's blockchain platform for institutional payments, tokenization, and near-real-time settlement, with over $4 trillion processed since launch.
KB Kookmin's initial rollout will prioritize US dollar transfers, connecting Kinexys to its existing SWIFT infrastructure without replacing it.
