Kenya Places 30 Million Diplomas on Blockchain to Combat Certificate Forgery

Kenya has launched a blockchain-based system to verify academic credentials, placing over 30 million records on the Avalanche network in an effort to combat certificate fraud and streamline qualification checks.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), in collaboration with Avalanche, introduced the platform, allowing employers, universities, and other institutions to confirm the authenticity of educational records onchain. This makes tampering significantly more difficult, ensuring that academic credentials remain secure and tamper-evident.

Avalanche's native token, AVAX, declined 1.1% on Monday but is currently trading nearly 69% below its price from a year earlier, according to CoinMarketCap.
