Korean Banks Join Forces with Ripple at XRP Seoul 2026
Korean banks are rapidly adopting blockchain-based solutions, particularly in tokenized finance. Woori Bank and Kakao Bank have joined Ripple's upcoming event, XRP Seoul 2026, to be held on October 3 at Grand Hyatt Seoul. This conference will feature discussions on institutional adoption of the XRPL (XRP Ledger), tokenized assets, institutional DeFi, RLUSD cross-border payments, and institutional XRP management.
The speaker lineup is significant, with representatives from Woori Bank, Kakao Bank, Kyobo Securities, and Kbank joining Ripple executives. Seunghoon Han, senior manager at Woori Bank, and Leo Lee, manager at Kakao Bank, will be among the speakers. Their presence underscores Ripple's growing institutional footprint in Korea.
Kbank has been working with Ripple on blockchain-based overseas payments, including testing digital-asset infrastructure connected to international transfers. South Korea is also exploring tokenized government bond settlement using Ripple infrastructure, expanding Ripple's role beyond payments into capital-market infrastructure.
