Korean Firms Team Up on Tokenization Push

Share

KB Securities, Securitize, and Optimism have signed an exploratory Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop tokenization in Korea. This marks a significant step towards bringing on-chain finance to the region.

The agreement names a tokenized bond as the first product, according to X post by Optimism's team. In the same day's blog, two tokenized funds were also mentioned.

Korea's first regulatory phase for tokenization is set to begin in February 2027. This development follows recent initiatives by the government to promote blockchain technology and digital assets.
