Kraken Parent Launches Permissioned Perps for US Traders
Payward, the parent company of cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, is planning to offer US traders permissioned hyperliquid perpetual futures markets. The proposed markets will be deployed and administered by Bitnomial, a CFTC-regulated exchange and clearinghouse, which would also clear and settle the contracts.
NinjaTrader Clearing, a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant, will carry approved customer accounts. Payward describes its planned hyperliquid markets as permissioned, with access restricted to accounts onboarded by NinjaTrader and included on both NinjaTrader's and Bitnomial's allowlists.
The proposed structure would provide US clients with access to new perpetual futures contracts on Hyperliquid through a registered futures account, while placing onboarding and regulatory obligations with the named exchange, clearinghouse, and broker. Payward confirmed the project on its verified X account, saying 'We're building permissioned Hyperliquid HIP-3* markets for US clients.'
