Law Firm Documents Exposed on Dark Web Amid Rising Cyberattacks

Greenberg Traurig, an international law firm, has confirmed that an unauthorized actor accessed and posted a limited number of documents on the dark web.

The firm described the incident as isolated and stated that the affected records were not specified. The disclosure comes after several other law firms reported similar breaches involving client identity and health information.

BakerHostetler, a cybersecurity services firm, handled nearly 60 cyber incidents involving law firms in 2025, almost twice the number it handled in 2024. Phishing was the leading identified cause of these incidents, accounting for 30% of the matters analyzed by BakerHostetler.

Crypto wallet providers have also reported customer-data leaks and phishing attacks through outside service providers. In May 2025, U.S. exchange Coinbase disclosed that criminals had bribed overseas support agents to obtain customer information, affecting 69,461 users.
