Ledger Teams Up with Kraken's Payward for Tokenized Market Access

Share

Hardware wallet company Ledger has partnered with Payward, the parent of cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, to integrate secure self-custody with broader trading and payments infrastructure. According to a recent LinkedIn post from Ledger, users will be able to fund, withdraw, and sign transactions using Ledger hardware directly within the Kraken interface.

The collaboration aims to bring hardware-enforced security closer to trading and payment infrastructure, which could strengthen Ledger's role in the digital asset ecosystem as regulation and institutional interest in tokenization grow. The post suggests that this integration will initially support debit card and bank transfers in Europe and the U.K.

As the partnership develops, Ledger and Payward are working toward deeper integration of xStocks, which has surpassed $42B in transaction volume. This future integration would enable Ledger users to access U.S. and international equities onchain, trading hundreds of tokenized equities from a self-custody environment.
