Liberland Sees Over 800,000 Citizenship Applicants Amid Tech and Crypto Interest

The Free Republic of Liberland, an unrecognized micronation on disputed territory between Croatia and Serbia, has attracted over 800,000 applicants for citizenship.

Vit Jedlicka, founder of Liberland, claims that despite the lack of international recognition, people are drawn to its low-tax model and limited government intervention.

Liberland charges fees for residence permits and applies financial requirements during its citizenship process, which also incorporates a digital token called 'Liberland Merits.'

The project has piqued the interest of wealthy figures in the technology and cryptocurrency industries, with several tech billionaires reportedly backing it.
