Linea, an Ethereum layer-2 network developed by Consensys, has announced that it is exiting validators behind its Yield Boost vault after a security incident involving MetaMask Staking. This move will reduce staking rewards that fund Linea's ecosystem incentives.

The funds and control of the Yield Boost vault itself remain unaffected, according to Linea. However, liquidity providers and DeFi protocols on Linea face lower incentive funding until replacement validators are in place.

Lido estimated that exited ETH could take up to about 45 days to cycle back through Ethereum's validator entry queue. The MetaMask Staking incident has resulted in the exit of approximately 17,000 validators holding around 523,000 ETH, according to a security researcher known as Kaden.
