Linera Crypto Project Shut Down After Failed Token Sale and Emergency Funding Efforts
Linera Crypto Shutdown: A Layer-1 Project's Demise
The cryptocurrency space has seen its fair share of failures, but the Linera shutdown stands out due to its ambitious project and significant funding. The Layer-1 project raised about $12 million from investors, including a16z crypto, yet it couldn't secure the necessary funds to reach mainnet.
According to the team's announcement on Discord, the decision to cease operations was solely based on insufficient funding after a failed token sale and emergency raise. The LNRA token sale on the Sonar platform fell short of its $1.5 million minimum target, with commitments amounting to 848,300 USDC.
The team had promised to refund all subscriptions in case the minimum threshold was missed, which they did. However, this couldn't save the project from shutting down immediately due to a lack of new capital.
