MacOS Screen Sharing Flaw Exploited for Monero Mining

A recently patched macOS vulnerability has been exploited to install Monero cryptocurrency miners on multiple systems.

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC-NL) in the Netherlands reported that threat actors have taken advantage of the Screen Sharing feature's flaw, tracked as CVE-2026-65400.

Apple fixed the vulnerability on August 6th with macOS Tahoe 26.6.1, macOS Sequoia 15.7.9 and macOS Sonoma 14.8.9 updates.
