Malaysia Joins Open Islamic Markets for Cryptocurrency
Malaysia has emerged as one of the more open Islamic markets for cryptocurrencies, according to Fitch Ratings. The country's regulatory body, the Securities Commission (SC), allows several digital assets to be classified as sharia-compliant.
The SC's Shariah Advisory Council declared several cryptocurrencies sharia-compliant between 2020 and the first half of 2026, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, and Stellar.
