A female doctor in Dungun, Malaysia lost RM558,000 to an online forex and Ethereum coin investment scam.

The victim, a 32-year-old private clinic doctor, initially saw an advertisement offering trading and investment lessons on Instagram before being contacted by 'Wan' on WhatsApp.

The victim made 77 transactions between January 12 and August 11, transferring RM558,000 to six different accounts. She was later told she had committed a crime and needed to pay compensation to avoid legal action.

However, the victim realized she had been cheated when she received no returns on her investments.
