MARA Holdings has resumed buying Bitcoin after selling over 20,880 BTC during the first half of 2026. The company used those proceeds to reduce debt and finance its expansion into artificial intelligence infrastructure.

The latest purchase includes 1,292 BTC worth around $98.64 million at an average price of $76,347 per Bitcoin. This deal marks a return to buying for MARA after it accumulated more than 25,000 BTC with Fidelity Custody and held approximately 9,658 BTC in operating wallets.

The miner's decision to resume buying comes as listed miners face high costs. According to CoinShares, the average cost of mining one BTC reached $75,500 in the second quarter of 2026.
