Marathon Shifts Toward Diversified Digital Infrastructure Platform
Marathon Digital Holdings presented its Q2 2026 results on August 6, revealing a strategic transformation from pure Bitcoin mining toward a diversified digital infrastructure platform.
The company reported a net loss of $611 million, or $1.60 per share, far below analyst expectations for a $0.35 profit and marking a sharp reversal from the $808 million profit posted in the year-earlier period.
MARATHON's revenue fell 27% year-over-year to $175 million, missing the $208.37 million consensus by 16.1%. The stock recovered slightly in after-hours trading, rising 0.75% to $10.73.
