Matador Secures TSXV Approval for Preferred Shares Amid Global Expansion
Matador Technologies Inc., a Toronto-based company focused on Bitcoin ecosystem development and treasury management, has received conditional approval from the TSX Venture Exchange to create a new class of non-voting preferred shares. This move aims to strengthen Matador's position in digital asset treasury management by providing an additional capital-structure tool for future financing flexibility.
The proposed amendment would give priority to these preferred shares over common shares in dividends and liquidation, pending shareholder approval at the October 14 meeting and final exchange acceptance. This new class of shares could potentially influence the rights hierarchy between preferred and common shareholders.
Matador's Bitcoin treasury strategy has been a key focus area for the company, with its primary asset being Bitcoin. The firm is also expanding internationally through strategic investments, including a proposed stake in India-based HODL Systems, which would bring its ownership up to 24%.
