Meme Coin Market Bounces Back Amid Rising Transaction Volumes
The meme coin market is showing signs of recovery after experiencing a slump in recent months. Despite their relatively low values compared to other cryptocurrencies, meme coins have remained popular among investors worldwide.
Transaction volumes jumped by nearly 300% in January 2026, following an almost 25% increase in the market cap rate during that month. This surge is attributed to traders returning to meme coins at the beginning of the year, rejuvenating the marketplace and providing a strong start for the first quarter.
The meme coin market cap has risen to around $50 billion as of January 22nd, up from $38 billion on December 29th. Dogecoin experienced significant gains during this period, with growth levels exceeding 20%, while Shiba Inu rose by 19.9%. Pepe saw the largest increase, soaring by nearly 70%.
