MetaMask's staking validators have been pulled offline following an ongoing security incident affecting part of its infrastructure. The company assured users that there is no immediate threat to their wallets, and they are working on a fix internally alongside partners and security advisors.

The affected validators include those run by MetaMask Staking as a node operator in the Lido protocol. As a precaution, MetaMask has started exiting the validators, working with its staking clients and partners. The company emphasized that the staking operation is non-custodial and does not hold withdrawal keys for clients' stake.

The exits have already begun, and the final validators are expected to be out by October 7th. Lido warned that this move will likely result in missed staking rewards and possible downtime penalties. However, stETH holders do not need to take any action during this time.
