Microstrategy Builds USD Cash Pool to $1.59 Billion Amid Bitcoin Rally
Microstrategy (MSTR) shares rose nearly 7% on Monday after the company's latest financial moves. The company used proceeds from a $2 billion stock sale to strengthen its liquidity position, which has grown significantly due to Bitcoin's recent price surge.
The firm sold approximately 18.26 million shares between August 17 and 23, generating about $2 billion in revenue. It then allocated around $136.4 million towards buying back STRC preferred stock and another $300 million to its US dollar reserve, which now stands at $5.1 billion.
The remaining $1.59 billion was placed into a newly established USD Cash pool, designed to provide additional liquidity for the company. This move gives Microstrategy more flexibility without immediately increasing its Bitcoin holdings.
