Midnight Token Surges Amid Privacy Token Demand, But Overbought Levels Raise Concerns
Midnight Token has seen significant growth in recent times, rising by over 235% from its lowest level this year and nearing its highest point since March. The token is now hovering near $0.048 on the market, with a total market capitalization of over $812 million, making it the 74th biggest coin globally.
This surge coincides with the ongoing demand for privacy tokens, as evidenced by the rally in Zcash (CRYPTO: ZEC), Monero (CRYPTO: XMR), and Dash (CRYPTO: DASH). Midnight's success also follows a positive rating from Weiss Crypto, which expects the coin to be the next big thing in the next 24 months. Charles Hoskinson, the token's creator, has reacted positively to the review, predicting that Midnight will become bigger than Zcash.
However, despite the optimism surrounding Midnight Token, there are signs that it has not lived up to expectations. DeFi Llama does not list any projects built using its technology, and instead Arc and Robinhood Chain have attracted significant assets in a short amount of time. The lack of dApps on the network is due in part to the fact that smart contract deployment was only enabled last week.
The token's price has become overbought, with an RSI of 86, indicating that it may retreat in the near term to $0.040 or lower.
