MOEX Expands Crypto Derivatives with Perpetual Futures on BTC and ETH
The Moscow Exchange (MOEX) is expanding its crypto derivative offerings by adding perpetual futures on Bitcoin and Ethereum in September. This move comes ahead of the enforcement of Russia's 'digital currency' law, which regulates investment in cryptocurrencies and related products.
The exchange will offer perpetual futures on BTC and ETH indices as part of its plans to increase the number of available coins to 10. Maria Patrikeeva, managing director of MOEX's derivatives unit, stated that the platform aims to expand this line 'and eventually increase the number of coins to 10.'
The MOEX has been providing professional investors with access to monthly and quarterly crypto futures since last summer, including ones based on Solana, Ripple, and Tron. The exchange plans to start trading perpetual futures on approximately 20 foreign stocks in the near future, based on popular shares such as Amazon, AMD, Tesla, and Netflix.
