Monero Prioritizes Private Payments Over Public Transparency

Monero (XMR) is an open-source cryptocurrency designed for private and censorship-resistant payments. Unlike Bitcoin, Monero prioritizes confidentiality by default, rather than making it an optional feature.

The network combines ring signatures, stealth addresses, and Ring Confidential Transactions to conceal the sender, recipient, and transaction amount. This approach also supports fungibility, allowing individual XMR units to remain interchangeable without publicly traceable transaction histories.

Monero's creation addressed a limitation of transparent blockchains, where anyone can inspect transaction flows and connect addresses, balances, and payment histories. The protocol builds confidentiality into standard transactions by default, making it different from Bitcoin, which prioritizes public auditability.
