MoneyGram has launched a Visa card backed by stablecoins, allowing users to maintain and use dollar-denominated funds. The card is initially available in Colombia before expanding globally in the coming months.

The card uses Circle's USDC as its initial stablecoin, with MoneyGram's proprietary MGUSD token set to be integrated later. Users can make digital purchases, in-person transactions, or withdraw cash at any MoneyGram branch worldwide.

The solution was developed in partnership with Rain, Crossmint, and the Stellar network. MoneyGram's CEO stated that the card provides customers with enhanced flexibility and authority over their finances through a unified platform.
