MoonPay Connects AI Agents with Solana Lending Through Kamino Integration
MoonPay has expanded its PayBox AI payment vault to include Solana lending protocol Kamino, enabling eligible users to instruct ChatGPT or Claude to supply tokens for yield or borrow USDC against crypto collateral.
The integration marks an expansion into a major Solana lending venue and positions MoonPay as the connective layer between AI agents and Solana-based lending. PayBox already offered payments, token swaps, bridging, and access to yield through Aave.
Kamino holds around $1.3 billion in total value locked and $1 billion in active loans, according to DefiLlama. MoonPay frames the agent-funding piece through its MoonAgents product, which is designed to fund an AI agent so it can transact onchain.
The core idea is that an agent handles the mechanical steps of a lending position, from funding the wallet to executing the transaction on Solana. Users can require passkey approval for every transaction or let the AI act autonomously within preset limits, making user permissions and funding limits the practical safeguard.
