Morgan Stanley Tests Stablecoins in New Blockchain-Led Research Lab

Share

Morgan Stanley has launched a Digital Asset Lab to test stablecoins, tokenization, and DeFi applications. The lab will investigate blockchain-based banking and client services, aiming for faster 24/7 payments for clients.

The bank wants to explore the possibility of transactions on blockchain networks during the day, which could increase payment availability outside regular banking hours.

Morgan Stanley will conduct controlled testing of DeFi applications, considering tokenized commercial deposits and money-market funds. It will also research central bank digital currencies and ways to move traditional financial assets onto public blockchains.
