Musk's X Money May Tap into XRP for Yield-Generating Tools
X Money, Elon Musk's payments platform, may soon integrate with XRP (XRP Ledger Foundation CTO Denis Angell suggests). This integration would allow users to move funds from their X Money accounts into XRP and access yield-generating tools on the XRPL.
Angell envisions a connection between X Money's wallet product and XRPL's lending and asset-management features, enabling users to transfer between consumer payment accounts and on-chain financial products. He believes that having an 'on-ramp' to XRP within the X social app is key.
The XRPL Foundation's goal is to bring traditional financial functions onto the ledger, including lending protocols and single asset vaults, which allow users to deposit assets into a pool and generate yield. Angell highlighted these developments as examples of 'TradFi primitives' being integrated into the protocol.
