NEAR Community Proposes Token Inflation Reduction Plan
A proposal to reduce token inflation on the NEAR network has been submitted by Sal Ternullo, CEO of Svrn AI. The plan aims to decrease the current issuance rate of 2.5% to 1.6% over a period of 24 months. This reduction is part of a long-term goal to move towards a fixed total supply.
The proposal is currently open for discussion among validators, House of Stake representatives, and the broader NEAR community. It's worth noting that this development comes after the NEAR Intents incident, which did not involve any vulnerabilities in the NEAR Protocol or native NEAR token.
