NEAR Intents Hacker Given 48-Hour Ultimatum to Return $3.8M
Aurora co-founder Alex Shevchenko has publicly identified the hacker behind the recent $3.8 million exploit on NEAR Intents, a cross-chain swap service. The attacker is given 48 hours to return the stolen funds.
The ultimatum lists Bitcoin, BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Solana addresses for repayment. Shevchenko notes that responsible disclosure is an option, where hackers can report flaws privately in exchange for a bounty.
This is not the first time NEAR-linked services have been targeted by hackers. In April, Rhea Finance lost $18.4 million in an exploit, but the attacker returned some of the stolen assets after being publicly identified and threatened with exposure.
