New York and Wyoming Deepen Crypto Oversight Cooperation
New York and Wyoming have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen oversight of cryptocurrency and digital asset companies operating in both states. The agreement allows regulators from both states to share supervisory experience and exchange regulatory information, including historical examination records and market information.
The pact covers companies that already hold a license or charter in either state and those seeking approvals from both regulators at the same time. It enables New York and Wyoming to share technical reviews, previous examination findings, and analysis relevant to licensing and charter applications.
As a result, the agreement may reduce duplicated regulatory work for companies operating under both state systems. Each regulator, however, retains responsibility for its own licensing and supervisory decisions.
