Notcoin's Struggling Ecosystem Gets Boost with Not Games Launch
Notcoin's struggling ecosystem is receiving a boost with the upcoming launch of Not Games, a new gaming platform from Open Builders. The platform will integrate the NOT token as the primary currency for purchases, upgrades, and rewards across all games, aiming to transform it from a simple tap-to-earn reward into a valuable asset within the gaming economy.
The announcement comes as interest in Telegram-based mini-games has plummeted, with data showing TON's user base has fallen to its lowest level in a year. Not Games will feature a play-to-win experience, rather than a pay-to-win model, with the most skilled players competing for rewards in NOT every three weeks.
Open Builders has already launched a game called VOID, and at least five more games are currently in development. The platform will also introduce Game Profiles and shared inventories, as well as an in-game marketplace where players can trade with each other.
Notcoin gained massive popularity in early 2024, attracting 35 million players within the first six months. However, interest in the token has sharply declined, with Google Trends data showing a near-disappearance by early 2025. The Notcoin Community's Telegram membership has dropped by nearly 2 million members since January, and NOT's price has only surged briefly after its mid-February listing on Kraken.
Data from Artemis reveals daily active addresses on The Open Network have plummeted, from 2.4 million in October 2024 to just 130,000 currently.
