Nu Holdings Expands Crypto Access in Brazil Amid New Regulations

Nu Holdings has expanded its retail access to crypto tokens in Brazil following the introduction of a legal framework for virtual assets. The new regulations require licensing, minimum capital, and segregated client accounts by October 30, 2026. This shift allows Nu Holdings to earn fees from crypto access without holding tokens on its own balance sheet.

The company's move into regulated crypto access is seen as an extra fee stream rather than a core driver of growth. Analysts are cautious about the impact of complex products, larger user volumes, and heavier regulation on compliance and technology demands.

Nu Holdings' current analyst narrative points to revenues of US$44.7 billion and earnings of US$7.9 billion by 2029, implying revenue growth of 74.3% per year and an earnings increase of about 2.2 times from US$3.6 billion today.

The company's forecasts put fair value at $18.78 compared with $15.37, a 22% upside to its current price that could narrow quickly.
