NYSE Teams Up with Blockchain.com for Tokenized Stocks

Share

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has partnered with crypto exchange Blockchain.com to explore tokenized stocks. According to a memorandum of understanding, users would be able to trade tokenized versions of U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs on an NYSE digital alternative trading system.

The focus is on moving traditional securities-market assets onto blockchain-based trading infrastructure. The NYSE is building a platform for around-the-clock trading of tokenized versions of U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs, with settlement handled on blockchain.

Blockchain.com's co-founder and CEO Peter Smith said the link could expand investment opportunities in U.S. equity-type digital assets to tens of millions of users worldwide.

The NYSE has stressed combining traditional finance trust with digital asset accessibility. President Lynn Martin said the future of capital markets depends on institutions that combine trust with innovation and accessibility.
