OKX Edges Out Binance with Lower Maker Fees
OKX and Binance are two major cryptocurrency exchanges that have been competing fiercely in the market. One of the key areas where they differ is their fees structure. A recent comparison reveals that OKX charges 0.08% maker against Binance's 0.10% at the entry tier, with both platforms matching at 0.10% taker on spot and at 0.02% and 0.05% on perpetuals.
However, there is a significant difference in licensing between the two exchanges. OKX holds a MiCA licence in Europe and runs a US platform in 46 states and Washington DC, while Binance suspended EEA services on July 1, 2026, and does not serve US or new UK retail customers.
For makers, OKX is cheaper by 0.02 percentage points, which translates to about $12 per year on $10,000 of monthly volume split evenly between maker and taker orders, or $24 if all of it rests on the book.
