OKX Files with SEC to Launch Tokenized Stock Platform, Bitcoin Surges
OKX, a major cryptocurrency exchange, has filed with the SEC to launch a tokenized US stock trading platform, a joint venture with Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange. This move makes OKX one of the first mainstream exchanges to use the SEC's innovation exemption. The platform will initially list tokenized versions of 63 NYSE-listed companies, with issuers given a 30-day opt-out window. Tokenized securities on this platform must carry full shareholder rights, including dividends and voting.
