OKX Secures $25 Billion Valuation with Strategic Investments from Circle and Ripple
Crypto exchange OKX has secured strategic investments from Circle, Ripple, Qube Research & Technologies, and Standard Chartered's SC Ventures at a $25 billion pre-money valuation. This extends a March funding round led by Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), which invested approximately $200 million at the same valuation. The new investors are already key infrastructure providers to OKX, offering stablecoins, liquidity, and custody services.
The funding coincides with the launch of OKX Money, a stablecoin conversion platform targeting emerging markets, and an SEC filing by OKXICE to offer tokenized trading in 63 U.S. stocks. OKX founder and CEO Star Xu stated that the company is evolving into a broader global financial technology platform, combining crypto infrastructure with the standards of global financial institutions.
Circle co-founder Jeremy Allaire highlighted the integration of USDC across OKX's platform, while Ripple's Jack McDonald emphasized the role of stablecoins in global financial infrastructure. Standard Chartered's Alex Manson noted the importance of institutional-grade custody for broader onchain adoption.
Separately, Ripple Prime expanded its relationship with Brevan Howard, providing prime brokerage, clearing, and financing services across traditional and digital assets. The deal underscores the growing convergence of digital and traditional market infrastructure.
