O'Leary Sees Bitcoin Reaching 1-3% Institutional Allocation

Kevin O'Leary, chairman of O'Leary Ventures, has re-entered the crypto market and is building new positions ahead of what he believes will be a significant market cycle. He made his comments at an event in New York, where he noted that Bitcoin could eventually account for 1% to 3% of institutional alternative-asset allocations.

This would put it on par with how much gold institutions currently hold, according to O'Leary. However, he emphasized that this is not a call for a retail mania but rather a slow and deliberate allocation-driven path toward institutional crypto adoption.

O'Leary believes that the first major stock exchange to adopt a blockchain will force other exchanges to follow suit with their technical and compliance requirements. He sees this as a potential watershed moment in the industry, one that could settle the ongoing fragmentation across competing chains.
