O'Leary Sees CLARITY Act Revival in Early 2027 Amid Crypto Tax Debate

Share

Veteran investor Kevin O'Leary expects Congress to revisit the CLARITY Act next year after it was blocked from advancing in the Senate.

O'Leary said lawmakers could return to the legislation as soon as early 2027, describing the bill's chances of passing as 'zero' after Tuesday's procedural vote failed.

The setback came as lawmakers advanced separate crypto tax legislation, with the House Ways and Means Committee approving the Digital Asset Tax Certainty Act on Wednesday.

O'Leary linked the tax legislation to the broader regulatory debate, saying clearer rules are needed as Congress determines how digital assets should be taxed. 'Once you tax, you've got to have policy,' he said.
