Optimism Superchain Surpasses $14 Billion in Aggregate TVL
Optimism's Superchain has hit a major milestone, surpassing $14 billion in aggregate total value locked (TVL). This figure combines multiple OP Stack networks, including Base and World Chain, rather than representing OP Mainnet alone. The TVL represents the growing economic footprint of these interconnected chains.
The distinction between Superchain and OP Mainnet is crucial. While the former includes various networks that share Optimism's technology and operate their own applications and user bases, the latter refers only to Optimism's main network.
Optimism's long-term strategy focuses on creating a seamless ecosystem where multiple chains behave like parts of one interoperable system. To achieve this, the company is working on shared proofs, messaging, and cross-chain state. This would reduce friction between networks and enable capital to move more naturally across the ecosystem.
For now, the $14 billion figure demonstrates scale rather than seamless interoperability. Users still experience separate chains, bridges, and application environments.
