OranjeBTC Launches DIGY11 ETF with Monthly Reais Dividends
OranjeBTC has launched its first financial product beyond Bitcoin holdings in its treasury, an ETF called DIGY11. The fund is listed on the Brazilian stock exchange B3 and starts trading today. It offers a unique proposition for crypto-ETFs: distributing dividends monthly in reais to shareholders.
The DIGY11 does not buy Bitcoin directly and therefore doesn't aim to track its price, currently $75,769.00. Its initial portfolio will consist of preference shares from Strategy (STRC) and Strive (SATA), which were structured for recurring payments in dollars and are issued by companies that hold significant amounts of Bitcoin.
The ETF has protection against currency fluctuations, daily liquidity on the B3 exchange, and aims to distribute monthly dividends in reais. According to OranjeBTC's estimates, this could offer a return equivalent to the CDI (Brazilian benchmark interest rate) plus 3% to 5% per year.
OranjeBTC CEO Guilherme Gomes said that the company aimed to create an entry point for investors who are not familiar with Bitcoin or prefer lower volatility. The fund can serve as a gateway for those interested in Bitcoin but hesitant to directly invest in it, according to Gomes.
