Oreum Network Launches Autopilot to Automate Recurring Crypto Payments
Oreum Network, an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain, is working on a feature called Autopilot to automate recurring and scheduled payments. This feature is designed to make crypto payments work on a schedule, with strict limits. The idea is to eliminate the need for manual steps in Web3 payments and automated DeFi.
The whitepaper describes Oreum Autopilot as a product layer built on top of two protocol pieces: the Rules Registry and the Automation Gas Lane. It allows users to create a Rule, which sets limits on a transaction, including the recipient, maximum amount, frequency, and gas payer. The Rule can never go beyond what the user signed, ensuring that transactions are safe and secure.
Oreum Autopilot is still in its early stages, with most features being proposed designs. The project is working on the first release, which focuses on time, including scheduled and recurring Rules, smart accounts, fee reserves, and sponsored gas. The whitepaper also mentions that Oreum Autopilot will depend on fees to run automated actions, including paying gas on ordinary transactions and funding automation fees.
