Origin Protocol's stablecoin, Origin Dollar (OUSD), has been hacked for $7 million in Ethereum and DAI. The attack occurred on Tuesday at 00:47 UTC due to a re-entrancy exploit.

The platform has confirmed that more than $1 million of the stolen funds were deposited by Origin and its founders and employees.

Origin Protocol's founder, Mathew Lui, stated that out of the total hacked amount, approximately $1 million was saved by the company's founders and employees.

The company has halted deposits and the price of OUSD is down by over 83% since the attack. In a tweet, the founder urged hackers to return the money and offered to hire them as security consultants if they do so.
