Paradex Options Trading Volume Soars After RFQ Engine Integration

Share

Decentralized exchange Paradex made headlines recently after its options open interest surged by a whopping 2.6 times to $202 million following the integration of Paradigm's request-for-quote (RFQ) engine in mid-September.

The RFQ system allows traders to request price quotes from market makers for specific trades, effectively making complex trades more efficient and cost-effective on-chain. This capability has historically been exclusive to centralized platforms like Deribit, but Paradex is now changing the game with its zero-fee pricing model.

Daily notional trading volumes reached as high as $17.6 million in the first days after the public launch, indicating real trading activity and a latent demand for decentralized options trading. This growth matters for DeFi derivatives, as it suggests that institutional-grade infrastructure is catching up with the demand from traders.
