Paybis Report Highlights Payment Method Fees Impact on Crypto Purchases
A recent report from Paybis has highlighted the importance of considering payment method fees when buying cryptocurrencies. The study found that different payment methods can result in varying amounts of cryptocurrency being received, even with the same platform, asset, and transaction amount.
The report compared a $5,000 USDC purchase via SEPA to one via card and found that the SEPA purchase returned 4,894 USDC, while the card purchase returned 4,755 USDC, a difference of 139 USDC. This discrepancy highlights the need for users to compare net received amounts, rather than just advertised fee percentages.
Paul Afshar, Chief Marketing Officer at Paybis, noted that most users know about crypto fees but often don't understand the final cost. He emphasized the importance of displaying net received amounts clearly before checkout, allowing users to make informed decisions.
