Payward and Ledger Unite Self-Custody with Crypto Trading

Share

Payward and Ledger have formed a partnership that combines self-custody with crypto trading. The deal connects Ledger's security infrastructure with Payward's global financial rails, enabling users to access both services seamlessly.

The integration will allow Kraken users to sign transactions using their Ledger devices directly within the Kraken platform. This feature is being developed using Ledger's Device Management Kit and will support Ledger's Clear Signing feature.

Additionally, Ledger Wallet will integrate Payward Services for buying, selling, and swapping cryptocurrencies. The initial rollout will support debit cards and bank transfers in Europe and the UK, with additional payment methods and markets planned to be added later.

The partnership also includes plans to add xStocks, Payward's tokenized-equity platform, to Ledger Wallet. This integration would allow eligible users to access tokenized U.S. and international equities through Ledger's self-custody environment, subject to local regulations and eligibility requirements.
