Payward and Singapore Gulf Bank Enable 247 Institutional Crypto Settlements
Payward, the company behind Kraken, has teamed up with Singapore Gulf Bank to offer 24/7 settlement services for institutional clients in the digital asset space. Announced on October 4, 2026, this partnership integrates SGB Net, a settlement infrastructure handling over $20 billion in monthly fiat transactions, with Payward’s institutional trading and custody operations. The collaboration allows institutional clients to conduct US dollar transactions at any hour, eliminating traditional banking cut-off times that limit settlement to standard business hours.
Kraken Prime, Payward’s prime brokerage division, will also provide liquidity to Singapore Gulf Bank’s customers under this agreement. This reciprocal arrangement expands access to both companies’ infrastructure, with Payward Chief Commercial Officer Mark Greenberg highlighting the real-time settlement capabilities and Singapore Gulf Bank CEO Shawn Chan emphasizing the integration of settlement and liquidity.
The partnership addresses the operational challenges faced by institutions trading across multiple time zones, particularly during volatile markets where delayed settlement can increase counterparty risk. This move aligns with Payward’s broader strategy to enhance its institutional infrastructure, following earlier expansions into prime brokerage and collaborations with traditional financial institutions. By partnering with a regulated digital bank active in Asia and the Gulf region, Payward aims to capture growing demand for always-on digital asset infrastructure.
